La scorsa settimana si è conclusa un’esperienza di volontariato nel nostro centro diurno La Bussola. La nostra volontaria, Anne, arrivata dalla Germania, ha deciso di aderire ad un progetto sul consumo responsabile promosso dall’associazione AIESEC, restando con noi per sei settimane. Ospitata da un altro nostro volontario per questo periodo in Italia, ha trascorso questi giorni entrando nel nostro centro, scoprendo le attività e le storie degli ospiti, incuriosendosi sulla nostra raccolta di eccedenze e ridistribuzione.
“Ciao a tutti, my name is Anna, I´m from Germany and I worked at la Bussola for six weeks. I took part in the project MakeEat and educated others and myself about responsible consumption.
During my first week at la Bussola I was showed around and worked side by side with my other co-workers who helped me to get to know how things work and what I needed to take care of. I got to know the guests at la Bussola and quickly understood what my tasks were and which rules I had to follow. Everyone welcomed me and was happy to see me. On Thursday I had my first English lesson with the guests. I was very excited, but also a bit nervous to see who world come to participate.
Everything worked out fine and I really enjoyed doing English lessons as the weeks went by.
By week two I started to go to the supermarket and different schools in the city to collect leftover food. We collected foods from the supermarket where the expiry date already went by or leftovers from the school mensa. I really enjoyed going around the city collecting food from different places and seeing that the food is being used again and does not go to waste. To me this now has become even more important because I got to see how much food we were collecting. Some days we brought the food that we could not use, because it was too much, to a place called popular kitchen. There it was distributed to other people in need again.
As the weeks passed by, I enjoyed getting to know the people and their stories. One of my favourite things about la Bussola is the laboratory, where people work with clay and craft different things. We designed our own necklaces, earrings and also created bowls and cups from clay. People enjoyed being creative and use their hands to create things.
At last I would like to thank everyone who made it possible for me to work at la Bussola and everyone who helped me to get to know this place. I enjoyed being part of this group and being able to give back something to people. Responsible consumption is a very important aspect in our everyday life and everyone should be aware of it. “Ciao a tutti, Mi chiamo Anna, sono tedesca e ho prestato servizio alla Bussola per sei settimane. Ho preso parte al progetto MakeEat per formarmi e formare altri sul consumo responsabile.
Durante la mia prima settimana alla Bussola mi sono guardata intorno e ho lavorato fianco a fianco con gli operatori che mi hanno aiutata a capire come funzionano le cose e di cosa dovevo occuparmi. Ho conosciuto gli ospiti della Bussola e ho capito velocemente quali fossero i miei compiti e quali regole dovevo seguire. Tutti mi hanno accolto ed sembravano felici di vedermi.
Giovedì ho avuto la mia prima lezione di inglese con gli ospiti. Ero molto emozionata, ma anche un po’ nervosa nel scoprire chi fossero i partecipanti. Tutto ha funzionato bene e mi è davvero piaciuto tenere le lezioni di inglese con il passare delle settimane. La seconda settimana ho iniziato ad andare al supermercato e in diverse scuole della città per raccogliere il cibo in eccesso. Recuperavamo gli alimenti in scadenza al supermercato e le eccedenze delle mense scolastiche. Mi è davvero piaciuto andare in giro per la città a recuperare cibo in luoghi diversi e vedere che il cibo viene riutilizzato e non va sprecato.
Per me questo ha preso ancora maggiore importanza vedendo le quantità di cibo che recuperavamo. Alcuni giorni abbiamo portato il cibo che non potevamo usare, perché troppo, in un posto chiamato Cucina Popolare. Lì, è stato nuovamente distribuito ad altre persone bisognose.
Con il passare delle settimane, mi è piaciuto conoscere le persone e le loro storie. Una delle cose che preferisco della Bussola è il laboratorio, dove le persone lavorano con l’argilla e creano cose diverse. Abbiamo progettato le nostre collane, orecchini e creato anche ciotole e tazze di argilla. Alle persone piaceva essere creativi e usare le mani per realizzare oggetti.
Concludendo, vorrei ringraziare tutti quelli che mi hanno permesso di lavorare alla Bussola e tutti quelli che mi hanno aiutato a conoscere questo posto. Mi è piaciuto far parte di questo gruppo ed essere in grado di restituire qualcosa alle persone. Il consumo responsabile è un aspetto molto importante nella nostra vita quotidiana e tutti dovrebbero esserne consapevoli.
